The Horse + Quail Dinner was a collaborative event hosted by Iris Fraser and artist Christine Swintak during her
2008 residency at YYZ. Done after gallery hours and by invite only, a farmer's-market gourmande dinner was served to 20 guests in a white undershirt uniform, after which the participants were encouraged to break their dishwear (the leftover objects from a project by Swintak) on a concrete installation in the corner of the room. In the destruction of past work, an extreme case of gallery rage ensued and was watched by a crowd of onlookers through the open loading dock doors.
